One For All – All For One
BPO Union is not a union in the militant sense as one may understand in the regular sense, but definitely one in the dictionary sense, the “coming together of BPO employees in a rather seemingly informal gathering” (a very large gathering may we say). Welcome aboard – this forum belongs to us all in every way, so feel free to air your views in freedom and don’t forget to promote it among others – sharing promotes growth too.
Goals & Objectives: To discover the low-points in the lives of ‘BPO workers’ and to find ways to eliminate them. Taking from our great constitution we are – By, For and Of the BPO worker. We may sometimes need to collectively bargain for our combined good or at other times we may need to come together to ensure a minimum standard for things. There is need for a community based recruiting system too which we will address shortly. Lets make it a platform to talk amongst ourselves as friends-peers and find solutions to common problems within the BPO community.
Besides what is already obvious, we will add to our issues and and when they arise. Comments and suggestions will always be welcome from one and all.
There are adverse reactions from Corporate Unions (and that what these ruthless lobbyists actually are) NASSCOM and BPIAI … well if they can all get together and form one why deny their employees a chance to do the same. May we assure them our intentions are as pure towards them as theirs are towards us and we bear no ill will to their existence as they may choose to bear towards ours

Legal Issues Ahan! So you have no idea about your legal rights in a BPO environment. And you have no idea about your legal duties in a BPO environment. Do you know what your employers’ Legal rights against you are? Do you know what your Legal rights against your employer are? Any of the above ring a bell … Ask or Tell.
Workforce Security How far is your employer bound to secure you? Physical security is important – Emotionally secured by your employer? Do you have a ‘real and workable’ sexual harassment policy and committee? Where you can and will be addressed if ever (God forbid) you are harmed? Your employer ever heard of Gender Sensitization? Have you ever gone through a formal seminar to address all of the above?
